This and that, here and there

This was a busy weekend and has been a busy week so far! This weekend, we had a WONDERFUL time celebrating the wedding of our dear friends, Kristin and Gabe! Kristin was in my wedding three weeks ago, and I was honored and privileged to be in hers!

Kristin was a gorgeous bride!!!!

Her sister, Kassie, was a beautiful maid of honor!!!

We had a fun time with Mom and Dad celebrating the Pelphrey's big day!!

The wedding was beautiful, a wonderful celebration of the blessings that come with doing things God's way and we couldn't be more thrilled for Kristin and Gabe!!!

This week Cain's been busy with recruiting, I've been busy working, writing thank you notes, and trying to catch up on life ... but we're so blessed!! Dad and Mom flew up to New York yesterday and today, Dad was on Glenn Beck. Tomorrow he'll be on his radio show and he'll be on the TV program again on Friday. What a blessing for God to provide this national platform to present the truth of our nation's religious history!

A preview of Dad and Beck on the set - from Mom's view :)

Getting started and dinner with Ollie

So we've been married almost three weeks, campaign season is about to swing into high gear, TX Republican State Convention is just around the corner, work is busier than ever, we're planning several trips this summer, have a friend's wedding I'm in this weekend, recruiting is taking more time than normal ... and I decide to start a blog! :) As Vizzini would say - "Inconceivable!" And yet here we are! :)

Last night we attended Campus Crusade's Military Ministry dinner with my parents and our good friends, the McDowells- if you've never heard of this organization, check them out! They're doing great work - serving not only the men and women who serve overseas and in the states, but offer great support for the families and loved ones, as well as counseling for those suffering from PTSD. LTC (Ret.) Ollie North was the keynote, but Nate Self, author of Two Wars and an Army Ranger who suffered with PTSD, also shared. He and Cain got to talk for a while afterward and realized they knew some of the same guys!

Col. North is a gracious man and shared some great stories with us! We greatly appreciate his sacrifices and are so glad that there's someone to tell the stories of the military!

Captain Self was a true inspiration to Cain last night - we're grateful for his service - and for the service of all the men and women in uniform, as well as the families and friends that support them!
